SEND Session 6 August - Creatures of the Nile

06 August 2024
2:00-3:30pm

This summer, we are thrilled to introduce brand new sessions designed specifically for young people aged 11+ with Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND). These sessions are an excellent opportunity to explore, learn, and have fun in a supportive and inclusive environment.

  • Led by Experts: Sessions are led by university academics and VG&M staff ensuring high quality activities which will be fun, engaging and interactive.
  • Diverse Subjects: Learn about fascinating topics including anatomy, archaeology and physics.
  • Relaxed Environment: Limited numbers for a more relaxed and comfortable session atmosphere. Whilst there will be a session structure, young people are free to engage as much or as little as they would like and extra activities will be available to allow for flexibility.
  • Quiet Room: With focus tools, black-out tent, books, cushions, weighted blankets and beanbags.
  • Structure: Attendees can take part in all activities if they wish, however there is no pressure to participate. There will be alternative activities available at each session too. A timetable for each session will be provided in advance. Every session will include a break in the middle with drinks and biscuits. Young people to be dropped off and collected from the VG&M Welcome Desk.

6 August - Creatures of the Nile - Take part in a ‘dig’ to find replica artefacts just like archaeologists do; create clay animals inspired by artefacts on display; create your own animal gods; using a map of Egypt and Sudan discover more about which animals lived where and their habitats.

Booking required on Eventbrite.
