The Victoria Gallery & Museum is a place where art, history and ideas come together. Guided by the University of Liverpool's enduring commitment to learning and enriching lives, we open our collections to spark curiosity, creativity and discovery.

As custodians of remarkable cultural heritage, we care for and share a wide range of objects, stories and experiences. From world-renowned curiosities to outstanding works of art, every visit offers something unexpected, all set within the stunning surroundings of the iconic Victoria Building.

What we do

Preserving and sharing the University's history from the last 140 years is at the heart of the Victoria Gallery & Museum. We also curate imaginative and accessible exhibitions and displays, ensuring there's always something new to see here.

As part of the Knowledge Quarter and the Hope Street CIC, we actively collaborate with local businesses to enhance the Hope Street area.

Opened in May 2008 by HRH The Princess Royal, this Grade II listed building, designed by Alfred Waterhouse has been a central part of University life for over a century.
