This summer, we are thrilled to introduce brand new sessions designed specifically for young people aged 11+ with Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND). These sessions are an excellent opportunity to explore, learn, and have fun in a supportive and inclusive environment.
20 August - Science is Cool
Join our university physicists and find out just how cool science can be. Explore the properties of materials and how these are affected when brought to the extremely low temperatures of substances like liquid nitrogen. Interactive demonstrations and props will help visualise physics principles while having fun and joining in with experiments. The second half of the session will focus on forces. Have fun creating balloon kebabs and explore ‘super balloons’ finding out how our bodies balance forces acting upon us all the time. The sessions ends with a ‘blast-off’ activity.
NB. Activities will be explained and warnings given ahead of any loud noises. A few pairs of ear defenders are available but we recommend you bring your own if possible.
