Stars to Seas: The Globe Through Time and Cultures

Tuesday 28th April | 1-2pm | Free | Book your ticket via Eventbrite

From mapping the stars to navigating the oceans, globes have long captured the meeting point of history, science and politics, helping us make sense of our place in the world. Join Dr Phillip Brooker, Professor Michael Mair and Sabreen Syeed from the University of Liverpool’s Sociology, Social Policy and Criminology department as they unpack how this familiar object can provide us with a powerful lens for understanding how humans have sought to understand, claim and explain the Earth.

This is a free event, please book your ticket via Eventbrite.

This talk is linked to objects on display in the Lightbulb Moments exhibition.
