Celebrate Children’s Dental Health Month with us! Step into Victorian dentistry with interactive theatre, curious artefacts, tooth crafts and hands-on fun for ages four to 11.
Working with theatre company As Creatives, families will discover the surprising — and sometimes strange — world of Victorian dentistry and the part Liverpool played in the development of dental care. All of this will be done through lively, interactive storytelling and play. As Creatives workshops will run at 12pm, 1pm and 2pm.
Get hands-on at our Spark Cart, where you can explore real artefacts from our dental heritage collection. Find out what a tooth key was used for and uncover some truly weird and wonderful historical remedies for toothache.
Children can also take part in creative tooth-themed crafts to learn how a healthy diet helps protect our teeth today, and make their own Victorian toothpowder to take home — for display only, not for brushing!
This playful drop-in event is designed for families with children aged 4–11 years and combines creativity, history and science. All hosted by a university museum with the oldest dental teaching department in Europe.
