The Victoria Gallery and Museum and the University of Liverpool's Department of Music present a brand new series of relaxed concerts that are fully accessible and open to all.

The first concert will be held in the  Waterhouse Café at 3pm on Friday, 4 October.

Performing at the first concert will be PhD student and expert performer on the Guzheng, Xiaoxiao Hou, who is currently researching music interventions with people living with dementia.

The Guzheng is a Chinese plucked string instrument with 16 (or more) strings and a 2,500-year history. The performance will cover ancient and traditional pieces, classical pieces, folk songs, classic soundtracks, modern pieces, Western Pop songs and film scores.

Due to their location in the café space, the concerts are relaxed and informal and attendees are encouraged to move around freely during the performances.  It is  a perfect environment for people living with dementia and their carers, however anyone is welcome to attend.

Tickets are only £5 and include a drink and a cake to enjoy during the performance.
