New book by comic artist, John Higgins, to accompany VG&M exhibition

A new book containing some of the best work of Liverpool-born comic artist John Higgins will be launched at the opening of his forthcoming exhibition at the VG&M.
`Beyond Watchmen & Judge Dredd’ brings together for the first time John Higgins’ art work for some of the most iconic comic books including `Watchmen', Judge Dredd', `Hellblazer',`Before Watchmen' and `Razorjack'.
Alongside never before seen preliminary drawings of now iconic characters, the book also includes insights into the career of the comic book artist.
Anthony Cond, Managing Director of Liverpool University Press, who are publishing the book, said: “Beyond Watchmen and Judge Dredd is not only an essential book for all enthusiasts but also gives an intriguing insight into what it takes to land a contract with DC Comics.”
`Beyond Watchmen & Judge Dredd’ is available to buy for £20 at the Liverpool University Press website. John will be signing copies of his book at the official opening of the exhibition on Friday, 10 March at the Victoria Gallery & Museum.
The first retrospective of the work of John Higgins opens at the University’s Victoria Gallery & Museum on Friday, 10 March 2016.
The exhibition will feature Higgins’ original art displayed alongside examples of the work of the artists and science fiction classics that inspired him.
