'Take a Seat' : Seated Portraits
Location: Gallery 4, first floor
This small display is drawn from the University of Liverpool's permanent collections and brings together portrait paintings where seating is used as a compositional tool.
It is a chance to see our portrait Paddington Interior, Harry Diamond, 1970 by Lucian Freud which is very fragile and not always on display.
The other artists are BP Portrait Prize winner James Lloyd, John Heritage, Norman Blamey, Marjorie Brooks, Andrew Ratcliffe and Austin Davies. Davies taught both John Lennon and Stuart Sutcliffe at the Liverpool School of Art.
